The National Opera Association offers opportunities for everyone in the world of opera to work together for the advancement of quality in performance and pedagogy. Whether professional or amateur, pedagogue or performer, staff member or volunteer, you can serve the cause of opera through your membership in NOA.
NOA holds an annual convention featuring performances, panels, workshops, and other continuing-education opportunities for opera educators, professionals, and students. The Convention Program is a valuable reference for the participants and a highly visible publication for those who drop in to experience the many wonderful convention events.

NOA is comprised of thirteen regions, each with a regional governor, to foster regional activities and collaboration among members. Find out how to get involved and connect with others in your region.
NOA sponsors numerous competitions on an annual or biannual basis, including the Carolyn Bailey and Dominick Argento Vocal Competition, Opera Production Competition, Collegiate Opera Scenes Competition, Chamber Opera Composition, Scholarly Paper Competition, and Dissertation Competition.
