Cleveland Conference 2020 Plenary Session: We are very excited to announce that renowned America composer Libby Larsen will join us as a headliner. Ms. Larsen will present a plenary session entitled "Libby Larsen and the Dominick Argento Connection" which will include a discussion, video recordings, and live performances of scenes and arias from Argento and Larsen works.

Marian Anderson, one of the most celebrated singers of the twentieth century, was awarded a "Lift Every Voice" Legacy Award from NOA at its New Orleans convention. It was the first such award to be given posthumously by the organization, in honor of Ms. Anderson's distinguished career and role as a groundbreaking icon for generations of singers.

Laverne Monette, a leading soprano in the 60s and 70s and a native of New Orleans, was awarded the NOA "Lift Every Voice" Legacy Award at the 2017 banquet in Santa Barbara.
Dr. Robert Larsen, Founder and Artistic Director of Des Moines Metro Opera for 37, and Professor Emeritus at Simpson College, was awarded the NOA Lifetime Achievement Award. in absentia, for his significant and enduring legacy of his contribution to the world of opera.
Accepting the award on his behalf was Dr. Virginia Saya (pictured above, far right).
Henry Price, noted leading tenor and Professor of Music at Pepperdine University, was awarded the NOA Lifetime Achievement Award in January 2017 for his lifelong contributions to opera and singer training.
Dr. Price was introduced by a tribute by his Pepperdine colleague, Louis Lofquist.
Legendary soprano Ester Hinds was honored at the Indianapolis convention's Gala Awards Banquet as the NOA's 2016 "Life Every Voice" Legacy Award winner.
